Cleanliness and State of Mind

I'll admit, I am not the cleanest person. I don't mind wearing underwear more than one day (if I'm in dire staights, or am in Nepal), showering is not my top priority after exercising, I'll go barefoot in public. Recently I went SFO to pick up Kim, didn't wear my shoes. While waiting I had to use the bathroom. Now it's not as though I didn't think "wow, that's a public bathroom", it's just that the thought occured to me as I was walking out of the bathroom. Barefoot. Fast foward to Tuesday morning. I rode my motorcycle to work and under my work pants I wore some track pants. So I headed into the bathroom to take them off. I untied my shoes, took my feet out, and carefully placed my feet back on top of my shoes. I stared at my feet for a moment. Hmmm.... Just the other day I was more than willing to walk into a public restroom without shoes on, and now here I was trying to keep my socked feet off the ground. Is this because I was at work and in keeping with my perception of myself at work, need to be clean? Or is this because I think the bathroom at work is dirtier than the one in SFO? Perhaps taking it one step further, do I consider the people I work with dirtier than the strangers that use the lu at SFO?
